Security expertise meets data craft

A small, US-based, woman-owned team built around a rare pairing: someone who understands security data, and someone who can make it clear.

You work directly with the people doing the work — no handoffs, no junior reviewers, no sales team.

  • US-based
  • CISSP-certified
  • Tableau Certified
  • WOSB / EDWOSB
Two koi fish, one gold and one teal, circling in a yin-yang over a glowing circuit-board pond framed by lotus flowers — two specialists in balance.

ByteJutsu pairs two complementary specialists so security data ends up both correct and clear — the part most vendors get half-right.

The security side isn't theory. Our founder has been writing software since 1986 and securing it since 2006 — 40 years building, 20 securing. Starting as a one-person team, she built an enterprise digital forensics lab from the ground up (desktop, network, and mobile forensics, malware analysis, data recovery, eDiscovery), then moved into cyber analysis, data science on security data, and DevSecOps — building CI/CD pipelines with SAST and DAST. She knows what security data means.

That depth was earned where the stakes run highest — three decades supporting federal cybersecurity missions and national-scale cyber-defense exercises. She has built big-data security analytics on Splunk, the Elastic Stack, and Hadoop to turn high-volume telemetry into situational awareness, stood on both sides of those exercises as a blue-team defender and red-team liaison, driven STIG and ATO compliance and independent verification and validation across mission-critical systems, and operationalized machine-learning threat detection across large device fleets. She has also taught programming at the university and graduate level — because the work only matters when others can follow it.

The visualization side is just as deliberate: a Tableau Certified Data Analyst who turns tangled, high-volume security data into dashboards an analyst, a CISO, or a board can read in seconds.

Born in Vietnam to Chinese parents who had fled there during the Second World War, the founder left as one of the “boat people” and came to the United States as a refugee. Starting over with nothing — and rebuilding — instilled a hard-won respect for resilience and for protecting what people can’t afford to lose, the instinct behind every security engagement. A first-generation college graduate, she built ByteJutsu to do excellent work and to widen the door into technology for those who come to it from the outside.
